Guide update: Get connected to the REPL using PyCharm!
Update 25 October 2021: The PyCharm and CircuitPython page in the Welcome to CircuitPython guide has been updated to show best practices for using PyCharm with CircuitPython. It no longer refers to the plugin mentioned below, which no longer worked. If you’re interested in using PyCharm with CircuitPython, check out the new page!
PyCharm released a MicroPython plugin that allows you to connect to the REPL right inside the editor! I’ve updated the Welcome to CircuitPython guide to show how you can use PyCharm to connect to the REPL with your CircuitPython board. Check it out!
