Cosplayer Shiva Cosplay has committed to the dark side — at least so far as it’s required to make a Kylo Ren costume. She not only worked with a photographer to create an impressive photo of the ensemble, she made every part of the costume herself. Though Kylo’s costume is all black and looks somewhat simple, it’s comprised of layers of fabric with different textures. His tunic is especially complex, with lots of pleats. In order to get them just right, Shiva pleated the fabric herself, a tedious task. And she made the lightsaber hilt (photo below). She says it was “made from scratch (forex covered with worbla) and hilt (toy) repainted.”
