Nicholas Tollervey – Mu – How to Make a Kids’ Code Editor – PyCon 2018 – talk on making a code editor in Python for beginner programmers (Mu).

The Raspberry Pi Foundation receives feedback about the difficulties beginner programmers encounter when learning Python from thousands of volunteer mentors at after-school CodeClubs and thousands of teachers from around the world.

Mu is a Python code editor for beginner programmers based upon this feedback.

This talk tells the story of Mu: why it was created, how we built it and includes a demonstration of how it works.
