we’re about to ship the CircuitPlayground version of CIRCKIT soon, FEATHER is on the way, then more… some notes!
…it’s time to try making a micro:bit version! this time we went with a vertical smt connector, needs a little silkscreen touch-up and we’re not sure whether it makes sense to keep a speaker output (there’s no dac on the micro:bit) or replace it with a big/loud buzzer instead. decisions, decisions!
AND you may be asking… will we make a crickit for raspberry pi?? we think given the special shape and power supply requirements it’d do better as a hat. here’s our first draft all routed! biggest change is swapping the analog amplifier for an i2s amp, and two extra seesaw pins will become an extra usb-serial converter.
more soon!
WHAT IS CRICKIT? A Creative Robotics & Interactive Construction Kit. It’s an add-on to our popular Circuit Playground Express that lets you #MakeRobotFriend using CircuitPython, MakeCode, Arduino, etc.. robotics, arts, crafts, audio animatronics, sensors, agriculture/robot farming, physical computing, kinetic sculptures, science experiments, telescope control…

Stop breadboarding and soldering – start making immediately! Adafruit’s Circuit Playground is jam-packed with LEDs, sensors, buttons, alligator clip pads and more. Build projects with Circuit Playground in a few minutes with the drag-and-drop MakeCode programming site, learn computer science using the CS Discoveries class on code.org, jump into CircuitPython to learn Python and hardware together, TinyGO, or even use the Arduino IDE. Circuit Playground Express is the newest and best Circuit Playground board, with support for CircuitPython, MakeCode, and Arduino. It has a powerful processor, 10 NeoPixels, mini speaker, InfraRed receive and transmit, two buttons, a switch, 14 alligator clip pads, and lots of sensors: capacitive touch, IR proximity, temperature, light, motion and sound. A whole wide world of electronics and coding is waiting for you, and it fits in the palm of your hand.
