Failing Upward with a Bluetooth Speaker Build | #MusicMonday

Skip to 3:30 if you don’t want to watch the ‘fail’ part of this project video – the first speaker enclosure not quite turning out the way Switch & Lever anticipated. The second attempt is not only a good step-by-step with regards to enclosure design & finish, but includes some good tips for dis/assembling otherwise discarded ‘e-waste’ electronics into a functioning desktop device with minimal investment (beyond time, and hopefully some learning along the way!). Watch:

Skip ahead some if you’re just interested in seeing a speaker being built with reclaimed electronics and a Chinese bluetooth receiver. Watch from the beginning if you want to see me fail at veneering MDF, it’s a right hoot, let me tell you!

Make a robot friend with Adafruit’s CRICKIT – A Creative Robotics & Interactive Construction Kit. It’s an add-on to our popular Circuit Playground Express, FEATHER and other platforms to make and program robots with CircuitPython, MakeCode, and Arduino. Start controlling motors, servos, solenoids. You also get signal pins, capacitive touch sensors, a NeoPixel driver and amplified speaker output. It complements & extends your boards so you can still use all the goodies on the microcontroller, now you have a robotics playground as well.
