Make your next project super-flexy with a biiiig prototyping board that can twist and shout– err, twist and bend! This passive flexible proto-PCB is about large as a piece of paper, but instead of dead-trees its made of very thin FR4.
We’re not bending the truth! This protoboard is only 0.4mm thick, so its extremely bendable and you can cut it easily with scissors – just don’t use your nice fabric scissors since the fiberglass will dull them. It has a bend radius of about 2 or 3″. You can also crease it, but that might break a trace if you crease a trace, and of course it may crack and break along the crease.
And, of course, there are 0.1″ spaced prototyping holes with solder pads. They aren’t fully plated through, the holes are only on one side. But, you can solder any thru-hole components to the pads. Sensors? LEDs? Jumper wires? We have no assumptions what people are going to use it for, but we know it is going to be awesome.
The PCB is really floppy. If you need to solder electronic components, you may need some physical support as the protoboard won’t stay ‘straight’ on its own. So why not octopus it up and give yourself an extra hand (or four!) with some Hobby Creek tools?
Adafruit publishes a wide range of writing and video content, including interviews and reporting on the maker market and the wider technology world. Stop breadboarding and soldering – start making immediately! Adafruit’s Circuit Playground is jam-packed with LEDs, sensors, buttons, alligator clip pads and more. Build projects with Circuit Playground in a few minutes with the drag-and-drop MakeCode programming site, learn computer science using the CS Discoveries class on code.org, jump into CircuitPython to learn Python and hardware together, TinyGO, or even use the Arduino IDE. Circuit Playground Express is the newest and best Circuit Playground board, with support for CircuitPython, MakeCode, and Arduino. It has a powerful processor, 10 NeoPixels, mini speaker, InfraRed receive and transmit, two buttons, a switch, 14 alligator clip pads, and lots of sensors: capacitive touch, IR proximity, temperature, light, motion and sound. A whole wide world of electronics and coding is waiting for you, and it fits in the palm of your hand.
