We’ve created a grow box for growing lettuce with a bunch of sensors and switches, and a camera, of course, because everything becomes better if you can livestreaming it. That’s what we got on our side and you’ve got the Messenger bot to share your thoughts about the better way to grow the most delicious lettuce in the world to pamper the Vaider.
How it works
The grow box is fully automated and isolated from the world and the only way to change something inside it is to make your vote through the Messenger bot. To make a more informed decision you need to check the current state inside and to do it you can ask the bot to show you the latest sensor data from the grow box, it shows you the current temp, humidity, light etc. (we are still developing and connecting more and more sensors ).
After that, you can choose one of the predefined actions, for example, give more light or less light, or maybe more water and so on. Also, you can check the process of the voting, get the live polls and revote if you want to.
Every hour the voting finished and the action that has the largest amount of votes performed and you can see the live stream of the action on the Facebook page of our project. After that process starts over and you can check the data and vote again.

Stop breadboarding and soldering – start making immediately! Adafruit’s Circuit Playground is jam-packed with LEDs, sensors, buttons, alligator clip pads and more. Build projects with Circuit Playground in a few minutes with the drag-and-drop MakeCode programming site, learn computer science using the CS Discoveries class on code.org, jump into CircuitPython to learn Python and hardware together, TinyGO, or even use the Arduino IDE. Circuit Playground Express is the newest and best Circuit Playground board, with support for CircuitPython, MakeCode, and Arduino. It has a powerful processor, 10 NeoPixels, mini speaker, InfraRed receive and transmit, two buttons, a switch, 14 alligator clip pads, and lots of sensors: capacitive touch, IR proximity, temperature, light, motion and sound. A whole wide world of electronics and coding is waiting for you, and it fits in the palm of your hand.
Have an amazing project to share? The Electronics Show and Tell is every Wednesday at 7:30pm ET! To join, head over to YouTube and check out the show’s live chat and our Discord!
