One of the primary missions of ATMakers.org is to pair up clients who need assistive technology solutions with high school STEM and robotics teams who have the skills and tools to help create and/or maintain solutions for them. Often off-the-shelf or commercially produced assistive technology cannot be adapted to a user’s special needs or is too cost prohibitive. Bill Binko of ATMakers.org produced this video based on a recent address he gave at an AT conference talking about how to approach such organizations to assist you in creating and maintaining assistive technology solutions. It outlines the do’s and don’ts of what can be a very productive relationship for all parties involved.
