Wifi Synth V1 is a sound sculpture that scans wifi and sonifies the available networks. Each network device’s unique MAC address is converted into a sequence of audible fequencies. Signal strength is related to distortion and waveform is determined by the wifi channel.
Because it relies on public wifi signal data the sounds produced are different based on where the piece is located. The yellow panel is an antenna. All parts except Raspberry Pi are salvaged e-waste.
