NEW PRODUCTS THIS WEEK
Mini SWD 0.05″ Pitch Connector – 10 Pin SMT Box Header: We’ve carrying a new 1.27mm pitch 2×5 Mini SWD 0.05″ Pitch Connector. It’s a tinier, bite-sized version of the Box Header used on our SWD Cable Breakout Board. Instead of a full shroud, there’s a half-shroud with a key-notch. It’ll takes a lot less space on your board!
2×20 Socket Riser Header for Raspberry Pi HATs and Bonnets: Give yourself a lift with this 2×20 female socket header that has slightly longer than usual pins. You can plug this into your Raspberry Pi GPIO port and then plug a HAT or Bonnet or Phat on top.
13.56MHz RFID/NFC Bracelet – NTAG203 Chip: This is a blank 13.56MHz RFID/NFC Bracelet with an NTAG203 chip – often used for train/bus passes, information sharing, contactless payment, but also found in other systems where a proximity card is desired. The bracelet contains a small RFID chip and an antenna, and is passively powered by the reader/writer when placed a couple inches away.
Ultrasonic Distance Sensor – 3V or 5V – HC-SR04 compatible – RCWL-1601: If you’re like me, you’ve dreamed of being a dolphin – smoothly gliding through the water. Using your echo-location abilities to detect tasty fish treats. Until genetic modifications catches up with our desires, we’ll just have to make do with these handy 3V Ultrasonic Sonar Distance Sensor and a pair of flippers. These ubiquitous sensors are really common in robotics projects, but they can also be used for automation, interactive art and motion sensing. They work at about 2cm to 450cm away, but we think 10cm-250cm will get you the best results.
Google AIY Voice Kit for Raspberry Pi V2: Need directions to your nearest dry cleaner? Or maybe you need to send a hands-free email? Perhaps you just want to know what the weather’s like in Timbuktu. Ask your little friend – the Google AIY Voice Kit V2!
nRF51822 Bluetooth Low Energy Module – MDBT40-256RV3: If you have a custom PCB design and you’d like to add a little Bluetooth Low Energy, this module is ultra compact and easy to use. It contains a Nordic nRF51822 Cortex M0 chip that comes integrated with BLE radio as well as most of the supporting circuitry and even a chip antenna. The whole thing is in a tin and comes with FCC, CE and TELEC certifications.
HD Magnet Viewing Film – 50x40mm: Add extra-sensory powers to your toolkit with this nifty piece of HD Magnet Viewing Film. It’s a special film that contains a ferromagnetic slurry of ultra small nickel particles that turns black when around a magnetic field. Unlike some of the older films you may remember from grade school science class, this stuff is ‘high resolution’ so you can really see the details.
No-Foil Flat Back Rainbow Crystals for NeoPixel LEDs – 100 pack – SS16: Bedazzle your board with these No-Foil Flat Back SS16 Rainbow Crystals. They’re a lot like the crystals you see decorating clothes, bags and phones. But unlike most crystals you can buy these have no reflective foil on the back, which means they let light shine through and sparkle. This makes them not-so-great for decorating bland or boring things, but really great for gluing onto LEDs and NeoPixels!
Adafruit LoRa Radio Bonnet with OLED – RFM95W @ 915MHz – RadioFruit: The latest Raspbery Pi computers come with WiFi and Bluetooth, and now you can add even more radio options with the Adafruit Radio Bonnets! Upgrade your Raspberry Pi with a LoRa / LoRaWAN radio, so it can communicate over very long distances. These bonnets plug right into your Pi and give you long range wireless capabilities to remote notes that may be battery powered. Or, you can create Internet gateways with ease.
