NEW PRODUCTS THIS WEEK
Flat Vibration Switch – Breadboard friendly: This is a low sensitivity, directional vibration-induced trigger switch. Inside is a very soft spring coiled around a long metal pin. When the switch is bumped from the side only, the spring attached to the first pin touches the center pole to make contact with the second pin. So when there’s a bump, the two pins will act like a closed switch. When everything is still, the switch is open. Great for educational projects and wearables! Read more
Kano Computer Kit with Touch Screen: Are you more of a visual learner? Have you ever wanted to build your own touchscreen tablet but never knew where to begin? Now’s your chance! With the award-winning Kano Computer Kit Touch and storybook, you’ll not only build your own powerful computer, you’ll understand how you brought it to life! Read more
Diffused Red and Green Indicator LED – 18mm Round: This LED Is super chonky! Bigger than your average LED, it has a big, bold, and beautiful diffused body that measures approximately 18mm diameter. Inside is nestled a bi-color red and green LED, just like you’re familiar with. Each with about 2.3V forward voltage. Add a resistor in series and connect to a battery or microcontroller pin for a gorgeous glow. The center pin is the common cathode, so connect that to ground, then use the two outer pins to control the red and green elements inside. Read more
ESP8285 SMT Module – ESP8266 with 1MB FLASH – ESP-M2: Add Internet to your next project with an adorable, bite-sized WiFi microcontroller, at a price you like! This module contains an ESP8285, which is an ESP8266 processor with 1MB of FLASH memory already built in. You can use it just like an ESP8266, it’s the same processor and WiFi The ESP8266 processor from Espressif is an 80 MHz microcontroller with a full WiFi front-end (both as client and access point) and TCP/IP stack with DNS support as well. Small Alligator Clip Test Lead (set of 6): Connect this to that without soldering using these small alligator clip test leads. 18″ long cables with color-coded alligator clips on both ends. You get 6 pieces in 6 unique colors. Strong and grippy, these always come in handy! We often use these in conjunction with a multimeter so we don’t have to hold the probes in place. Read more.
ADT7410 High Accuracy I2C Temperature Sensor Breakout Board: Analog Devices, known for their reliable and well-documented sensor chips – has a high precision and high resolution temperature sensor on the market, and we’ve got a breakout to make it easy to use! The Analog Devices ADT7410 gets straight to the point – it’s an I2C temperature sensor, with 16-bit 0.0078°C temperature resolution and 0.5°C temperature tolerance. Wire it up to your microcontroller or single-board computer to get reliable temperature readings with ease. Read more
We are angry, frustrated, and in pain because of the violence and murder of Black people by the police because of racism. We are in the fight AGAINST RACISM. George Floyd was murdered, his life stolen. The Adafruit teams have specific actions we’ve done, are doing, and will do together as a company and culture. We are asking the Adafruit community to get involved and share what you are doing. The Adafruit teams will not settle for a hash tag, a Tweet, or an icon change. We will work on real change, and that requires real action and real work together. That is what we will do each day, each month, each year – we will hold ourselves accountable and publish our collective efforts, partnerships, activism, donations, openly and publicly. Our blog and social media platforms will be utilized in actionable ways. Join us and the anti-racist efforts working to end police brutality, reform the criminal justice system, and dismantle the many other forms of systemic racism at work in this country, read more @ adafruit.com/blacklivesmatter
