‘Barcelona from Above’ Captures Aerial Views of the City
Few cities are as special as Barcelona. No matter how many times you visit, it’s always possible to see it in a new way. These photos from Márton Mogyorósy give you the chance to see the city from an aerial view, featured on designboom.
the series by mogyorósy includes drone photography highlighting the geometry of cerdà’s eixample district, which is arranged in a neat grid with octagonal intersections. the octagonal blocks, which date back to the 19th century, have become synonymous with barcelona and are characterized by the grid pattern and long diagonal streets. using aerial photography, ‘barcelona from above’ is able to perfectly capture this architecture, showing to viewers the smaller elements which make up the whole of the city.
