The NEW Adafruit IO Documentation is here! #API #HTTP #MQTT #CircuitPython #Python @AdafruitIO @CircuitPython

If you’re interested in utilizing all of Adafruit IO’s capabilities, or just want a quick reminder on how to send data to a Feed – the NEW HTTP and MQTT Adafruit IO API documentation is a perfect place to start. Over the past few months, the Adafruit IO team has overhauled the existing HTTP API Documentation. But, what can you use it for?

Writing some code and not sure how to get the last known data value of your feed? Don’t want to read through lines of example code – just need the code? We’ve included code snippets for CuRL, Ruby, Python, Arduino, and CircuitPython for most HTTP API Endpoints!

While connecting to Adafruit IO’s HTTP API was on the previous documentation, we’ve added complete documentation for the MQTT API too! Topics range from subscribing/publishing to feeds to best practices when publishing CSV data to Adafruit IO.

Contribute to the Adafruit IO Documentation – Spotted a mistake? Want to add some code snippets? The previous HTTP documentation sat a daunting 4000+ lines of JSON to comb through. The new documentation is located on our GitHub and can be easily edited in markdown (all the pages live inside a source folder) and then built locally using either Docker or Vagrant.
