Circuit Playground Express for 4-H
Circuit Playground Express is the next step towards a perfect introduction to electronics and programming. We’ve taken the original Circuit Playground Classic and made it even better! Not only did we pack even more sensors in, we also made it even easier to program.
GreatFET One by Great Scott Gadgets
GreatFET One from Great Scott Gadgets is a hardware hacker’s best friend. At the center is a powerful NXP LPC4330 (Cortex M4 @ 204MHz) with two USB ports, one host and one peripheral, so it can act as a ‘man in the middle’ for USB interfacing. With an extensible, open source design, two USB ports, and 100 expansion pins, GreatFET One is your essential gadget for hacking, making, and reverse engineering. By adding expansion boards called neighbors, you can turn GreatFET One into a USB peripheral that does almost anything.
Adafruit LPS35HW Water Resistant Pressure Sensor
Sometimes you need to sense pressure in a damp environment. And sometimes you need to know the relative changes in pressure as well as the absolute pressure. For the times you need to do both (or either), the LPS35HW is the pressure sensor for you. Combining protection from water intrusion with support for high precision relative and absolute measurements, this sensor will do what you need. With drivers for CircuitPython, Arduino, and Raspberry Pi, and support for I2C or SPI (Arduino only SPI support, for now) you’ll be measuring pressure in moist situations in no time.
3.2″ TFT Display with Resistive Touchscreen
This is a screen for advanced hackers who like the look of the TFT screen we’ve put into the PyPortal, PiTFT Plus, and TFT breakout. This display has 320×240 pixels and is driven with the ILI9341 chipset. This is just the display module! No PCB is included! You can talk to this chip with SPI (4 or 3 wire), 8 bit parallel, or 16 bit parallel. It also can be put into “dot clock mode” for raw TTL signal in but we have never done this ourselves so there’s no example code for that.
What fits in your pocket, is fully Open Source, and can run CircuitPython, MakeCode Arcade or Arduino games you write yourself? That’s right, it’s the Adafruit PyGamer! We wanted to make an entry-level gaming handheld for DIY gaming, and maybe a little retro-emulation. It’s not the fastest and best of everything, but it is an all-in-one dev board with a lot of possibilities!
