“Hello everybody out there using minix – I’m doing a (free) operating system (just a hobby, won’t be big and professional like gnu) for 386(486) AT clones. This has been brewing since april, and is starting to get ready. I’d like any feedback on things people like/dislike in minix, as my OS resembles it somewhat (same physical layout of the file-system (due to practical reasons) among other things). I’ve currently ported bash(1.08) and gcc(1.40), and things seem to work. This implies that I’ll get something practical within a few months, and I’d like to know what features most people would want. Any suggestions are welcome, but I won’t promise I’ll implement them ?? Linus PS. Yes – it’s free of any minix code, and it has a multi-threaded fs. It is NOT portable (uses 386 task switching etc), and it probably never will support anything other than AT-harddisks, as that’s all I have :-(.”

TI-83 Premium CE 5.3.6+ blocks third party firmware TI-Python
Looks like the formerly CircuitPython-powered TI calculator is blocking 3rd party firmware now. It was first a fork of CircuitPython, then the name was changed, now we’re not sure exactly what is going on with using 3rd party firmware, more details on TI-Planet. “Dan debugged BLE on the new Circuit Playground Bluefruit, and it’s now working fine. He’s gotten BLE HID (Keyboard) working from CircuitPython, sending keystrokes over BLE to Linux, Windows, MacOS, and Android, and is still debugging iOS support.”
“Melissa finished up adding a CircuitPython Display Quickstart section to the last three display guides. After that Melissa wrote a guide for controlling an RGB Message Panel from a Stream Deck. This guide includes the first design done in Fusion 360.”

Adafruit Infineon Trust M Breakout Board – STEMMA QT / Qwiic. This is a STEMMA I2C breakout for the Infineon OPTIGA TRUST M SLS 32AIA. OPTIGA Trust M is the next generation of Trust X. OPTIGA Trust M brings RSA 1K/2K + ECC256/384. A crypto authentication chip much like the ATECC608 STEMMA we put into the shop last week, but with: ECC NIST P256/P384, SHA-256, TRNG, DRNG, RSA® 1024/2048 and 4.5K of user memory. This chip can store your private keys securely, as well as generate true random numbers – Adafruit & Infineon.

We’ll be including the updates here so you can easily keep track of which sensors are ready to go. Check it out!

We’ve written a special library called Adafruit Blinka that makes it possible to use CircuitPython Libraries on Raspberry Pi and other compatible single-board computers. Adafruit Blinka and all the CircuitPython libraries have been deployed to PyPI for super simple installation on Linux! We recently posted on the Adafruit blog about bringing CircuitPython messaging to other languages, one of the exciting features of CircuitPython 4.x is translated control and error messages. Native language messages will help non-native English speakers understand what is happening in CircuitPython even though the Python keywords and APIs will still be in English.
