Last month Streamlitlaunched their front end tool for machine learning teams. The project is open-source and easy to get up and running. Streamlit fills the need for tooling somewhere between JuPyter notebooks and consumer applications that can be written in Python. In a recent medium article, Adriene Treuille breaks down the goals for Streamlit into 3 main parts:
Embrace Python scripting. Streamlit apps are really just scripts that run from top to bottom…
Treat widgets as variables. There are no callbacks in Streamlit! Every interaction simply reruns the script…
Reuse data and computation. …Streamlit introduces a cache primitive that behaves like a persistent, immutable-by-default, data store that lets Streamlit apps safely and effortlessly reuse information.
Getting Streamlit up and running to create the example above took about 10 minutes AND creating a slider widget in one line of code is impressive! If you would like to learn more about implementing Streamlit, take a look at thesearticles. If you would like to contribute to the project, check out the Streamlit community. Stop breadboarding and soldering – start making immediately! Adafruit’s Circuit Playground is jam-packed with LEDs, sensors, buttons, alligator clip pads and more. Build projects with Circuit Playground in a few minutes with the drag-and-drop MakeCode programming site, learn computer science using the CS Discoveries class on code.org, jump into CircuitPython to learn Python and hardware together, TinyGO, or even use the Arduino IDE. Circuit Playground Express is the newest and best Circuit Playground board, with support for CircuitPython, MakeCode, and Arduino. It has a powerful processor, 10 NeoPixels, mini speaker, InfraRed receive and transmit, two buttons, a switch, 14 alligator clip pads, and lots of sensors: capacitive touch, IR proximity, temperature, light, motion and sound. A whole wide world of electronics and coding is waiting for you, and it fits in the palm of your hand.
