Look into the Zombie Mirror, wait for it to find your face, and … POOF! … a deep neural network turns you into a Zombie. It’s a lot of fun at parties.
Behind the scenes, Zombie Mirror consists of a monitor or TV connected to a Raspberry Pi that looks for your face and sends it up to DeepGrave.me (created specially for this project) which uses a type of deep neural network called a CycleGAN to zombify your face. The neural network was trained on 20,000 selfie images of “normal” people and 400 images of various zombie faces mined from the internet. The underlying network is a slightly modified version of this trained on a single NVIDIA GTX 2080 ti.
