Adafruit’s Top 10 Thingiverse Downloads of 2019 #AdafruitTopTen

Here are some of our favorite Thingiverse downloads for 2019! Special thanks to the indefatigable Ruiz brothers for making 2019 an amazing year!

10) Time Tracking Cube

Build a time tracking cube! Flip the cube to switch between tasks so you can automate your time sheets. An accelerometer tracks orientation and neopixels light up each task.

Use Adafruit IO to log data into a feed and store timestamps of each task. Setup triggers in Zapier and create an action to update a google spreadsheet. Get the Adafruit Feather HUZZAH and start building your IoT projects.

9) Geodesic Lamp Shade

Inspired by geodesic domes this lamp shade is dual extruded in translucent PLA and dark colored PLA. The wireframe structure protects a thin shelled transparent core and fuses together at the top. Two different sizes are available. 140mm diameter and 220mm diameter both with an opening at the bottom for an E26 standard or medium light bulb socket base.

8) Heat Set Insert Press

In this project we’re building a rig for installing heat set inserts. Use 3D printed parts and hardware to build a solder rig with smooth linear roller action! Make perfectly straight inserts with precision using a tip for installing inserts.

7) PyGamer Snap Fit Case

This enclosure is designed to secure the PyGamer PCB without any hardware screws. The PCB rests on bottom half with built-in standoffs. The top half features cutouts for the thumb stick, buttons and display. The two halves snap fit together and clamp shut. Features on the edges of the snap allow the case to firmly stay shut but also allow it to re-open.

6) Light Up Prop

In this project we’ll show you how to build a light up prop using Adafruit’s prop-maker! This is fully 3D printed and has a collapsible blade. It’s made from segments that are tapered so it can retract. It makes a pretty cool effect when you swing it around.

5) LED Zelda Master Sword with Sounds

Make a light up Master Sword from the Legend of Zelda! This build has motion activated sound effects and LED animations!

The Adafruit Feather and Prop-Maker FeatherWing has you need to add lights and sounds to your projects. NeoPixel LEDs are fitted inside the blade.

4) Hand Crank Solder Dispenser

Make solder time fun with Adabot and a hand cranked solder caddy! Keep your workspace tidy with this cute 3D printed solder dispenser. The crank is a print-in-place design with hinge and free spinning handle.

3) Santa Skull Ornament

Sliced the hat off to print separately 😀

2) Snap Fit Ornament with Spinner Inserts

Make your own snap fitting ornament with spinning inserts!

1) Watchmen NeoPixel Goggles

Build the Nite Owl tech from Watchmen to complete your Sister Night costume. In this project, we’re building NeoPixel goggles inspired by HBO’s television series Watchmen. Control the NeoPixel LED animations with a rotary encoder. Display up to four different modes with control like speed, colors and brightness of the NeoPixels. The 3D printed parts fit over costume goggles and snap fit together!
