Guide Updated: CircuitPython Made Easy on Circuit Playground Express and Bluefruit #AdafruitLearningSystem #Adafruit #CircuitPython #CircuitPlaygroundExpress @Adafruit
We updated the Circuit Playground library to support, not only the Circuit Playground Express, but also the Circuit Playground Bluefruit! In doing so, we also implemented a new import style that allows you to use the same code on both boards – simply import it as shown in the examples, and the library detects which board you are using and makes the proper features available. This means we could update this great guide to work for both Express and Bluefruit.
Now, the CircuitPython Made Easy on Circuit Playground Express and Bluefruit guide goes through all the features of the Circuit Playground library for both Circuit Playground Express and Circuit Playground Bluefruit. It includes a page for the new Bluefruit-only Sound features as well! If you’re looking for the simplest way to use CircuitPython with the Circuit Playground Express or Bluefruit, this guide has everything you need to get started. Learn the basics of all the features available in the library, then combine them to make something all your own!

Stop breadboarding and soldering – start making immediately! Adafruit’s Circuit Playground is jam-packed with LEDs, sensors, buttons, alligator clip pads and more. Build projects with Circuit Playground in a few minutes with the drag-and-drop MakeCode programming site, learn computer science using the CS Discoveries class on code.org, jump into CircuitPython to learn Python and hardware together, TinyGO, or even use the Arduino IDE. Circuit Playground Express is the newest and best Circuit Playground board, with support for CircuitPython, MakeCode, and Arduino. It has a powerful processor, 10 NeoPixels, mini speaker, InfraRed receive and transmit, two buttons, a switch, 14 alligator clip pads, and lots of sensors: capacitive touch, IR proximity, temperature, light, motion and sound. A whole wide world of electronics and coding is waiting for you, and it fits in the palm of your hand.
