Intriguing interactive art installation from Jan Neukirchen. The focus is on communicaton and technology. If you watch around the 30 second mark you see the piece is operated with a Raspberry Pi!
Jan Neukirchen’s exhibition playfully asks about the long-term memory of the cloud and the creative potential of language assistants, which have already become commonplace. An algorithmically operated echo machine passes on passages of text, thus circulating words in space. The audience can follow the content by moving between the speakers and microphones.
The second work “Communication Trees” is based on conversations on the Internet platform Reddit.com. Jan Neukirchen used algorithms to generate sound and image data from verbal communication, which contained the content references and ramifications of the conversations as plastic forms and video animation
