Adafruit team members share what it means having a pet during these tuff times

Please enjoy this collection of furry faces that give us joy and unconditional love (for the most part!) as we work from home.

This is Annie. Annie is happy to have a best friend in a time like this to cuddle and give love to 🙂

This is Bec short for (bacon, egg, and cheese). Bec is a formerly abandoned bodega cat. He was found by a friend outside after the bodega he was working at closed around Christmas (true story). He is less social, but will occasionally nuzzle his pal and is often asleep in his bed by his pal’s desk.

This is CEO CAT, and CEO Cat likes to shout “Get back to work, Human! The food bowl isn’t going to fill itself!”

This is King Biskit. She can tell when her pal’s anxiety starts to get the best of her and reminds her that there’s a world of wonder and adventure in their backyard.

This is Franz who may be recognized by coworkers because he is loud and likes crashing meetings. He likes to hang out with his pal in the mornings and evenings and for exactly five minutes in the afternoon.

This is Future Kitty – Future Kitty keeps her pal aware that someone is fully dependent on me and me staying healthy for their ongoing health, happiness, and very existence. And that boxes are important.

This is Huck (like Huckleberry). Huck misses going out and playing with other dogs, but he’s still a very sweet puppy.

This is Blooregard q kazoo – In this image, you will notice Kazoo seems confused and annoyed that his pal is around all the time again. Kazoo is also upset that his pal won’t let him outside, and as a form of revenge, he is peeing everywhere and throwing stuff into his litter box.

This is Karlie – Karlie enjoys her alone time. Being home with her has let her pal realize that personal space is very important.

This is Lennon – Every day Lennon brings a mix of energy, cuteness, routine, and surprise that gives his pal’s something fun and reassuring to focus on. He also stars in a daily series of animated photos on  Eternal Caturday. https://martymcgui.re/tag/caturday/ Check it out!

This is Lucy (or Baby, as she is affectionately known). Lucy and her pal are best friends, and they are not afraid to say it. Lucy was adopted right after Hurricane Sandy in 2012. Her pal says, “It’s hard to imagine what the last 7.5 years would have been like without her. She’s our furry, tempestuous, gluttonous bff, our white-bellied port in a storm, our everything, and more! Getting to spend even more time with her than usual during the Covid-19 isolation period has been a small blessing in these chaotic and scary times. Home isn’t home without our Baby cat.”

This is Luna – Luna is 10 years old and is such a kind soul. You will always find her lying at the feet of one of her humans as they are working/schooling remotely. Although she may not understand the gravity of all that is happening in this world right now, she is their constant source of unconditional love, support, and sloppy kisses.

This is Marz – Marz’s pal says “he has been the perfect couch potato buddy. We love to watch The Dog Whisperer. We also like to take walks on nice days. This is how we’ve been getting through this quarantine”.

This is Puppycat – Puppycat would like for her Pal to give her full attention during this quarantine, either that or to please leave HER apartment. There is no in-between. She is her pal’s favorite and least favorite coworker.

This is Ruairidh (pronounced Rory, it’s Scottish). He misses his mom who is in Washington State for a while. I look to give him extra attention, but he likes friends and family, who cannot visit at the moment.

This is Spooky – As Spooky’s pal explains staying inside could drive her crazy, but Spooky has been keeping her company while being stuck at home. He’s 18 (but a kitten at heart) and diabetic, so I’m super thankful his vet’s office is still open during this time!

This is Tiffany – Tiffany’s pal says, “It’s wonderful having a furry friend during this time because they don’t know that anything is different, they just love having more time together.” Tiffany loves to “hunt” toy mice, ultimately picking them up in her mouth and trotting up to us to present them like some unfortunate prey she’s killed. She then loudly demands that we praise and pet her for her excellent “hunting” skills. This activity usually starts between 1-2AM.

This is Marlowe, and he hopes that you were able to take a step back from the chaos we are currently facing to indulge yourself in some smiles.

  1. re: CEO CAT — How is it possible that the cat of an Adafruit employee doesn’t ALREADY HAVE a food bowl that fills itself???

  2. This is the most important post I’ve read all day. 🙂

  3. Too cute! BEC and Puppycat FTW. Amazing how cats know when you need to work and interject themselves at precisely that time. Stay safe all!

  4. Very friendly way to keep in touch with your customers.

A few months ago I placed an order, a Circuit Playground was included for free, and without realizing it, I ordered “AoE The X-files” on the day of the close-down. It was still being sent and I received the book a few days later (I already had AoE and Learning AoE). Now that I can no longer go outside due to high risk of infection (I am 67 and have leukaemia), I have at least something interesting to learn and read.

Hope you all stay well. 🖖😷👍

  5. My lizard wants to know where are the reptile pet pictures ? Seriously, an enjoyable bunch of pets… lucky owners. much enjoyed. thanks
