A few companies have been experimenting with cardboard packaging that can be remade into something else useful or fun, rather than discarding/recycling it. But so far, most of those efforts have seem superficial and not very well thought out.
Samsung seems to be going in the right direction with their TV boxes that can be made into a cat house, entertainment center shelving, and a magazine rack. Good start.
