Created a Patient Monitoring System With Go and Vue in 3 days @kasvith
Keshara Weerasinghe and Dr. Sudarshana Wickramasinghe in Sri Lanka created a Realtime Patient Monitoring System With Go and VueJS in 3 days.
Due to the nature of the virus, it was very hard to stop it from spreading. In Sri Lanka, where I live we faced the same situation as everyone else. And here we talk about how we helped our frontline in the battle by doing a small favour.
The deadly virus can infect you with a very small mistake. As healthcare workers, our frontline has to wander around the isolation wards to check vital signs of a patient from time to time. This task involves disposing of the protective gear after a visit. All just to check some readings on a device.
A request from health authorities reached us to develop a remote monitoring system for isolation wards. There is expensive software to remotely monitor them. But Sri Lanka might not be that rich to spend such amounts of money.
See how Go and VueJS were chosen and how things came together quickly.

Stop breadboarding and soldering – start making immediately! Adafruit’s Circuit Playground is jam-packed with LEDs, sensors, buttons, alligator clip pads and more. Build projects with Circuit Playground in a few minutes with the drag-and-drop MakeCode programming site, learn computer science using the CS Discoveries class on code.org, jump into CircuitPython to learn Python and hardware together, TinyGO, or even use the Arduino IDE. Circuit Playground Express is the newest and best Circuit Playground board, with support for CircuitPython, MakeCode, and Arduino. It has a powerful processor, 10 NeoPixels, mini speaker, InfraRed receive and transmit, two buttons, a switch, 14 alligator clip pads, and lots of sensors: capacitive touch, IR proximity, temperature, light, motion and sound. A whole wide world of electronics and coding is waiting for you, and it fits in the palm of your hand.
