“Best of Hands at Adafruit” Photo & Video Series Day 9 #hands #photography #wfh #bestofadafruit
Throughout this week, the Adafruit photo team will be posting a “Best of Hands at Adafruit” photo each day! Check in as we take you back to all of our favorite photos and videos.
For our day 09 post, we’re featuring the Flexible Protoboard, one of the most unique and hard-to-source prototyping materials we’ve come across.
We’re not bending the truth! This protoboard is only 0.4mm thick, so it’s extremely bendable and you can cut it easily with scissors – just don’t use your nice fabric scissors since the fiberglass will dull them. It has a bend radius of about 2 or 3″. You can also crease it, but that might break a trace if you crease a trace, and of course, it may crack and break along the crease.
And, of course, there are 0.1″ spaced prototyping holes with solder pads. They aren’t fully plated through, the holes are only plated on one side. But, you can solder any thru-hole components to the pads. Sensors? LEDs? Jumper wires? We have no assumptions what people are going to use it for, but we know it is going to be awesome.
Have an amazing project to share? The Electronics Show and Tell is every Wednesday at 7:30pm ET! To join, head over to YouTube and check out the show’s live chat and our Discord!
