Garden Hose Roller Guide #3DPrinting #3DThursday

Frio shared this project on Thingiverse!

A two piece garden hose roller guide with a print in place core.

Your printer should be reasonably well tuned so you get a nice friction fit between the spike and roller core. The roller to roller core gap of 0.3mm shouldn’t be a problem.

You want supports on the pointed end of the spike. No other support is needed if you do the following.

When sliced at 0.2 layer heights use variable layers to print layers 56.6 – 62.0 at 0.1 height. If you don’t you’ll likely get a mess in this area as the outer perimeter will be a complete overhang. A larger nozzle may also help but I didn’t try that. You could also print the entire roller at 0.1.

Let’s see your makes!

Every Thursday is #3dthursday here at Adafruit! The DIY 3D printing community has passion and dedication for making solid objects from digital models. Recently, we have noticed electronics projects integrated with 3D printed enclosures, brackets, and sculptures, so each Thursday we celebrate and highlight these bold pioneers!

Have you considered building a 3D project around an Arduino or other microcontroller? How about printing a bracket to mount your Raspberry Pi to the back of your HD monitor? And don’t forget the countless LED projects that are possible when you are modeling your projects in 3D!
