Proto-Cyberpunk Vehicle? #cyberpunk

Image if these amazing Goodyear concept tires from 1958 had caught on. They sported solid, translucent “neothane” tires that had 18 light bulbs embedded in them. The tires were scrapped after ten years of development attempts to perfect them. The material did not perform well under wet conditions and tended to melt under aggressive breaking.

Here is a video about the car seen in the first image. It is a 1953 Lincoln Capri that was heavily modified by George Barris, legendary car designer/customizer who created TV’s Batmobile, Knight Rider, the Munsters cars, and many others.

These images were posted to Twitter by fiction author Ewan Morris.
