USB MIDI Pedal Box #3DThursday #3DPrinting

todbot shares:

This is a small four button foot pedal for sending MIDI messages via USB.
The case is design to slide together and the ends snap on, so in theory no fasteners or adhesives are necessary. There are three different end cap variations: blank, USB jack, and USB + MIDI jack.

Print two end caps of whichever you prefer, and also print a “top” and a “bot”. Use either momentary guitar pedal footswitches or 12mm buttons (as in the photo).

The controller inside the box reading the buttons is a Trinket M0, but an ItsyBitsy M0 would work better, more code space. The code is written in CircuitPython.

Fusion360 file included in case you want to modify the box easily.

Every Thursday is #3dthursday here at Adafruit! The DIY 3D printing community has passion and dedication for making solid objects from digital models. Recently, we have noticed electronics projects integrated with 3D printed enclosures, brackets, and sculptures, so each Thursday we celebrate and highlight these bold pioneers!

Have you considered building a 3D project around an Arduino or other microcontroller? How about printing a bracket to mount your Raspberry Pi to the back of your HD monitor? And don’t forget the countless LED projects that are possible when you are modeling your projects in 3D!

Have an amazing project to share? The Electronics Show and Tell is every Wednesday at 7:30pm ET! To join, head over to YouTube and check out the show’s live chat and our Discord!
