Don’t miss out on the opportunity to bid on coded artwork and 3D printed planters created by our DIY Girls, gift cards, and so much more! Click below to view all of our auction items. The auction will close on November 10th at 7:00pm. All proceeds raised will benefit and empower young girls across Los Angeles to persist in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
Board chair of the non-profit, Jo Wright says:
We support girls in low-income communities in LA with free STEM afterschool programs, to increase their confidence, interest and success in technology, engineering, and making. We serve girls from 5th grade through 12th, with a goal of helping to create a more inclusive and diverse world, where more women in technology create meaningful change. Our elementary and middle school girls do creative electronics and making classes, so our girls and our supporters are very familiar with circuitry and making!
Stop breadboarding and soldering – start making immediately! Adafruit’s Circuit Playground is jam-packed with LEDs, sensors, buttons, alligator clip pads and more. Build projects with Circuit Playground in a few minutes with the drag-and-drop MakeCode programming site, learn computer science using the CS Discoveries class on code.org, jump into CircuitPython to learn Python and hardware together, TinyGO, or even use the Arduino IDE. Circuit Playground Express is the newest and best Circuit Playground board, with support for CircuitPython, MakeCode, and Arduino. It has a powerful processor, 10 NeoPixels, mini speaker, InfraRed receive and transmit, two buttons, a switch, 14 alligator clip pads, and lots of sensors: capacitive touch, IR proximity, temperature, light, motion and sound. A whole wide world of electronics and coding is waiting for you, and it fits in the palm of your hand.
