UPDATED GUIDES: Adafruit MagTag and Adafruit Metro ESP32-S2 #Adafruit #AdafruitLearningSystem #WebSerial #ESPTool #Python #MagTag #ESP32S2 @Adafruit @MakerMelissa
The Adafruit MagTag and Adafruit Metro ESP32-S2 guides have been updated with a new page on using the Web Serial ESPTool so you don’t even need to install Python to program your ESP32-S2 board. This tool is not as complete as the official ESPTool, but more complete than the Adafruit miniesptool. The WebSerial version supports stub loading which means you can upload files that are up to the entire size of the flash memory as well as supporting full chip erasing.
The WebSerial ESPTool was designed to be a web-capable option for programming ESP32-S2 boards. It allows you to erase the contents of the microcontroller and program up to 4 files at different offsets.
This tool is a good alternative to folks who cannot run Python esptool.py on their computer or are having difficulty installing or using esptool.py
