We slept in and had a tasty bagel breakfast, then jumped into our first design of the year. Building off the two Feather ESP32-S2 PCBs from yesterday, we flipped the TFT onto the back and accessorized it with some tactile buttons. We’ve been trying to design a TFT+WiFi all-in-one Feather for a few years ago, since we started making PyPortals… almost two years ago we started designing a low cost ‘mini PyPortal’ that would be able to run CircuitPython. (kinda like those lilygo all-in-one esp32+display boards folks have been using for a few years, but we don’t have circuitpython running directly on the original esp32) We started with a Feather M4 and tried putting an ESP32 + OLED into a panel-mountable design we couldn’t fit everything without it being so large we couldn’t really count it as a Feather anymore. The improvements in mini TFT and module technology since then allows it to be reborn again!
