PyCon US 2021 CircuitPython Sprints #CircuitPython @pycon #PyConUS
PyCon US 2021 is a virtual event – the largest annual gathering for the community using and developing the open-source Python programming language. Talks and keynotes wrap up Saturday evening. Sprints begin Sunday afternoon.
I’ll be hosting CircuitPython Development Sprints at PyCon this year! Everyone is welcome to attend, regardless of whether you attended the conference. The Sprints are being hosted on the PyConUS Sprints 2021 Discord Server, which you can join by clicking the link. There is an Introduction to Sprinting Workshop tomorrow, Sunday, 16 May 2021 from 3:30pm-4:45pm ET for conference attendees, which will officially kick off the Sprints.
The Sprints officially run from Monday, 17 May 2021 through Tuesday, 18 May 2021. I plan to be available on the Sprints Discord earlier in the afternoon on Sunday if folks want to start early. I expect to begin late morning Eastern Time on Monday and Tuesday.
As the event is virtual, I will not be able to provide hardware to folks who are participating in the Sprints. With that in mind, if you have your own hardware, please bring it! Otherwise, I will do my best to facilitate you contributing to the project in whatever way I can.

Stop breadboarding and soldering – start making immediately! Adafruit’s Circuit Playground is jam-packed with LEDs, sensors, buttons, alligator clip pads and more. Build projects with Circuit Playground in a few minutes with the drag-and-drop MakeCode programming site, learn computer science using the CS Discoveries class on code.org, jump into CircuitPython to learn Python and hardware together, TinyGO, or even use the Arduino IDE. Circuit Playground Express is the newest and best Circuit Playground board, with support for CircuitPython, MakeCode, and Arduino. It has a powerful processor, 10 NeoPixels, mini speaker, InfraRed receive and transmit, two buttons, a switch, 14 alligator clip pads, and lots of sensors: capacitive touch, IR proximity, temperature, light, motion and sound. A whole wide world of electronics and coding is waiting for you, and it fits in the palm of your hand.
Have an amazing project to share? The Electronics Show and Tell is every Wednesday at 7:30pm ET! To join, head over to YouTube and check out the show’s live chat and our Discord!
