Nelson Mandela Day 2021 #MandelaDay2021 #ActionAgainstPoverty
Mandela Day is today! Every year on July 18th we celebrate Mandela Day. Inspired by Nelson Mandela and his sociopolitical leadership, the holiday asks us to change our communities.
Take a look at your neighborhood and nearby areas. Are you living in or near a food desert? Do the people in your community have access to affordable fresh fruits and vegetables? Are the schools in your district properly funded with food programs and after-school activities? Is there adequate housing for members of your community and programs to end houselessness? Does everyone in your community have unlimited access to clean water?
Everyone deserves unconditional access to nutrient-dense food, safe housing, and clean water. What are you willing to do to make sure everyone has access?
In the spirit of Madiba and his vision to spread social justice and freedom for all, this is your chance to become part of a continuous global movement for good.
Let us all emulate the servant leader we loved by becoming servant leaders ourselves – Madiba change-makers.
By becoming someone who makes every day a Mandela Day by taking action against poverty, you can show others that actions speak louder than words.
