Hey folks! We’ve been doing more CNC projects and we wanted to try milling some keycaps out of wood. These DSA profile keycaps a bit tricky when it comes to CNC milling. These type of parts actually require a custom fixture for holding the keycaps in place while milling the top side. Using Fusion 360, we came up with a repeatable recipe that we think folks can do on any desktop CNC machine.
In this video, I’ll show you how to machine these keycaps in different types of wood. These DSA profile keycaps are fully symmetrical and feature a slightly concave top surface.
