Researchers at Tianjin University in China created the bot using a flat sheet of 3D printed liquid crystal elastomer. Although fairly small, it can can carry 40 times its own weight.
Designed by a team of researchers at Tianjin University in China, this fusilli-shaped robot assembles itself when heat is placed beneath it. Once the surface below the bot reaches 160°C, it rolls itself into a tubular form and is on its way.
