Brittany K. Barnett’s Vision of Sustainable Liberation for Justice-Impacted People
In this ~12 minute TED Talk attorney, author and entrepreneur Brittany K. Barnett discusses how we lose sight of the humanity of those we unjustly sentence and that part of systemic change must include the investment in and the nurturing of that humanity, a part of her vision of sustainable liberation.
I’ve been holding this vision lately of sustainable liberation. How do we create that? Sustainable liberation requires economic freedom, equity and ensuring that justice-impacted people have access to resources and capital to flourish and create positive ripple effects in their communities. That is true systemic change.
