Recreating the Actuators on the James Webb Space Telescope
The scientific and engineering marvels of the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) are hard to wrap one’s noodle around. And those marvels exist at every level and every subsystem of the craft.
In this video on Breaking Taps, they look at (and 3D print a replica of) the actuator assembly that controls all of the mirrors on the telescope in 7 degrees of freedom. Jaw dropping stuff.
