Vintage portable cassette players made in East Germany (GDR)
An interesting website documenting portable cassette players (without a built-in radio) from East Germany (the GDR) during the Cold War.
The KT 100 cassette tape recorder was the first portable cassette recorder in the GDR. The device appeared at Stern Radio Sonneberg in the early 1970s. Over time, the KT 100 has been slightly revised visually and technically. So some devices had a chrome lever for the drive control. The upper shell of the case was also revised later, especially the loudspeaker grille. The nameplate disappeared and the type designation migrated to the aluminum front as a screen print. The drive has also been revised. An external power pack is required for connection to the mains power supply. The KT 100 was available in different colors. In addition to black and gray, I also know devices in red, green and white.
