Moving Apple ][ Floppy Drive with Adafruit CircuitPython #adafruit #apple #floppy

jepler ended their week on a high note, getting the motor of an Apple ][ floppy drive moving back and forth with CircuitPython! It’s part of our quest to make Adafruit_Floppy work with non-PC floppy disk drives.

The simple code making this happen can be found in a GitHub gist.

For this step, +5 and +12V supplies are required, coming from an ATX power supply. The reading circuit requires an additional -12V supply just to spice things up. After that, we’ll see what else is needed to start reading and writing flux in these drives.
