The Great Search: 5V eFuse #TheGreatSearch #DigiKey @digikey @Adafruit
(Video) eFuses are a nifty way to protect your electronics from over/under powering – handy for maker electronics AND industrial equipment that needs to keep chugging along no matter what happens to the power supply.
We had someone ask us to design a board that would take 4xAA input and give USB output – one way to do that is with a buck-boost converter (which we already have) but maybe we could get away with a lower-cost and complexity design. Instead we’ll look for an eFuse that will permit no more than about 5.5V and have reverse current, reverse voltage and under/over voltage protection!
