It’s hard to remember that knowledge isn’t linear, and things (engineering techniques, languages, etc) are often forgotten or fall out of fashion due changes in political and cultural contexts. Check out this fun video from SciShow that revisits some of this lost knowledge. The video also reminds us of the power of good and durable documentation.
Our knowledge of specific technologies or techniques can sometimes be lost to time. And that can be because of changing economic conditions, or, sometimes, it’s because the technology was so deadly that only a few were allowed to know it.
Have an amazing project to share? The Electronics Show and Tell is every Wednesday at 7:30pm ET! To join, head over to YouTube and check out the show’s live chat and our Discord!
