The new entity will benefit from a cash investment of $62.4 million to fuel innovation and expansion into new markets.
Through this merger we aim to accelerate the global adoption of additive manufacturing by providing a comprehensive desktop 3D printing ecosystem of hardware, software, and materials. We will continue to offer and service our current MakerBot and Ultimaker product portfolios while investing in developing new technology to better meet your needs.
The agreement is subject to regulatory approvals, with closing currently expected over the course of the second or third quarters of 2022. Until the agreement is finalized, both companies will continue to operate as usual.
We wouldn’t be here today without the support of our customers. We thank you for taking this journey with us and we are looking forward to what is to come!
Every Thursday is #3dthursday here at Adafruit! The DIY 3D printing community has passion and dedication for making solid objects from digital models. Recently, we have noticed electronics projects integrated with 3D printed enclosures, brackets, and sculptures, so each Thursday we celebrate and highlight these bold pioneers!
Have you considered building a 3D project around an Arduino or other microcontroller? How about printing a bracket to mount your Raspberry Pi to the back of your HD monitor? And don’t forget the countless LED projects that are possible when you are modeling your projects in 3D!
