The Great Search – Alternative replacement for our go-to 3.3V regulator #TheGreatSearch @DigiKey @adafruit
(Video) The chip shortage is the gift that keeps not giving! Our next shipment of our go-to 3.3V LDO, the AP2112K-3.3 is delayed and we use a LOT of these chips – over a thousand a day. Not only do we use it for all our dev boards as a regulator to take USB or Lipo input and drop it down to 3.3V, but it’s also on almost all of our breakouts as a regulator that can take 3 to 5V and provide 3.3V output no matter which is used.
For that reason we need it to have very low drop-out. To keep our items in stock, we could change the lower-power breakouts to use a less-current-output version of the AP2112K (500~600mA) and stretch out our current stock!
