Once I had the idea for this, I had to see if I could get it to work. It’s not perfect but It’s pretty cool if you ask me.
mainGear and Exterior have to be printed at the same time and centered relative to each other. Each section can hold three nozGears. Once everything is printed, gently push the nozGear pieces into the slots at the same time. I don’t have a way to keep them from coming out but I’ve found that its not something you have to worry about if you don’t push the nozGear out too far past the second full gear. It can take a few moments of trial and error to have all the layers aligned but it has never been much of a hassle for me.

Every Thursday is #3dthursday here at Adafruit! The DIY 3D printing community has passion and dedication for making solid objects from digital models. Recently, we have noticed electronics projects integrated with 3D printed enclosures, brackets, and sculptures, so each Thursday we celebrate and highlight these bold pioneers!
Have you considered building a 3D project around an Arduino or other microcontroller? How about printing a bracket to mount your Raspberry Pi to the back of your HD monitor? And don’t forget the countless LED projects that are possible when you are modeling your projects in 3D!
