Fashioning a Paper-Remaining Indicator for a Manual Typewriter
Morley Kert is in love with the Underwood manual typewriter he bought online (who wouldn’t be?). But one thing he finds annoying (that everyone who ever used a manual can relate to) is that you can’t tell how much paper is left until you’re too close to the bottom edge.
To solve this problem. Morley designed and CNC-cut a knob for the paper advance rod which counts the number of clicks remaining. Two revolutions of the knob is a full sheet of 8-1/2″ x 11″ paper.
