Circuit Playground Express
Circuit Playground Express is the next step towards a perfect introduction to electronics and programming. We’ve taken the original Circuit Playground Classic and made it even better! Not only did we pack even more sensors in, we also made it even easier to program.
Uncased USB Flash Disk / Memory Stick – 2 GB
Create your own custom USB key by crafting, 3D-printing, molding, or laser cutting an enclosure that stands apart from boring every-day sticks. The Uncased USB Flash Disk / Memory Stick – 2 GB is the raw innards for a longer-style USB stick which makes it very slim, but also it has a few notches that make it easy to mold or model.
It’s plug-n-play so it works great with any computer or microcontroller in the Adafruit shop with a standard USB Type-A port. This unenclosed/uncased version is great for hobbyists or students who want to design their own hardware / memory stick enclosure but otherwise acts like any other USB key
USB to 5.5mm/2.1mm DC Booster Cable – 9V or 12V Output
This cable is kinda fascinating – it has an integrated boost converter, so you can plug it into any USB port (from a computer, battery pack, etc), and it will give you a higher DC voltage! It’s a handy way to power a 9V or 12V device. Unlike our other ‘USB booster’ cables, this one comes with a fancy lil display and a switch so you can select between 9V or 12V output and the voltage will be indicated. You can draw about 1A from 9V setting or 750mA from the 12V setting.
The cable comes with a 2.1mm inner diameter (5.5mm outer diameter) DC plug, arguably the most common, but also includes a 3.5mm / 1.35mm adapter.
This is a clear 13.56MHz RFID/NFC Tag with an NTAG203 chip – often used for train/bus passes, information sharing, and contactless payment, but also found in other systems where a proximity card is desired. The tag contains a small RFID chip and an antenna and is passively powered by the reader/writer when placed a couple inches away.
These can be read by almost any 13.56MHz RFID/NFC reader, but make sure it can handle ISO/IEC 14443 Type A cards (the standard NTAG uses) as there are a few other encoding standards (like FeLica).
This cable will let you get rid of all those wall adapters you have stashed in the plastic bin in the basement. Instead of multiple wall warts with different power and current capabilities, this cable will convert any USB Type C power adapter with Power Delivery (PD) support into a 9V DC power port, at up to 5 Amps output!
Inside the cable is a PD sink negotiation chip. When plugged into a proper PD Type C adapter that can provide 9V it will chat with the PD source chip in the power supply and tell it “Hey please change your output to 9V thankyouverymuch!”, and ta-da, you get 9V out on the DC barrel jack.
