Ford Opens ‘Heritage Vault’ 100 years of history now available online to download
June 16th was the 119th anniversary of the founding of Ford Motor Company and to celebrate they are making a century of archival material available to the public through a new online database called the Ford Heritage Vault, Via DesignTaxi
It’s time to take a joyride into the past. On June 16, its 119th anniversary, Ford opened the Ford Heritage Vault, releasing an entire trove of archival gems to browse and download for free.
The collection comprises over 5,000 old photographs, product brochures, and more available for car enthusiasts and journalists alike to explore the company’s rich history. Ford booted up the vault with the help of its employees and retirees, as well as students from Wayne State University’s library and information science program.
The assets are free for personal and editorial use, so feel free to print them out as posters. According to Ford, the images are a testament to the design and functionality evolution of its automobiles.
