OldestSearch is a delightful way to spend (or waste?) an hour or two on the internet. Just type whatever you’re looking for into the search bar and you’ll get to see the oldest results first.
TBQH, I struggled at first with what to try. I eventually settled on the obvious and typed “Adafruit” into the searchbar. Check out a screenshot of the results below:
The next thing I searched was “meme”, which brought up a 1994 article from Wired titled Meme, Counter-meme, which discusses (among other things) how memes are used in “net culture” and basically predicts their inevitable takeover of the mainstream online world and the ethical questions that lie therein. 1994! Wowzer.
