In this ObsidianAnt video, Obsidian looks at the spaceships that AI art programs are currently capable of generating. He’s not entirely happy with what Midjourney can dream up. Like a lot of AI art, they look interesting and evocative, but not a lot like the “actual” spaceships we’re used to seeing in sci-fi.
One interesting theory he has is that they’re not that “accurate” because there isn’t an over-abundance of spaceship examples online. I’m not so sure that’s true, but it does raise a point about all current AI generators — they’re only as good as the source material available to them online.
