Want your EAGLE PCBs labeled in the Papyrus font? Futura Heavy? Klingon?
We adore custom PCB silkscreens, but there aren’t enough hours in the day to make them for everything, so most of our small breakout boards get vanilla vector text. Functional, but not appealing.
Pinguin is a new Python-based tool that automates silkscreen creation with more legible (or more fun) typography. While it lacks the control of fully-custom silk, the results are nonetheless pretty amazing for as little effort as this takes. It’s an esoteric need but this will make a small group of people very happy!
