If you gaze up at the moon tonight you won’t be alone. Tonight is International Observe The Moon Night. Hosted by NASA, this event helps bring attention to the wonders of our lunar neighbor.

If you head over to the official website NASA has a ton of fun resources, activites, and events you can explore!

International Observe the Moon Night is a time to come together with fellow Moon enthusiasts and curious people worldwide. Everyone on Earth is invited to learn about lunar science and exploration, take part in celestial observations, and honor cultural and personal connections to the Moon. We encourage everyone to interpret “observe” broadly!

If you are in the New York area the Moonrise is at 1:18pm and Moonset is at 10:13pm. We’ll be seeing a Waxing Crescent moon. So take a peek when you get a chance!
